Garage plugs stop working?
Have your garage , outside, bathroom or kitchen plugs suddenly stopped working? If the answer is yes the problem is most likely a tripped GCFI. The NEC code requires all kitchen, garage, bathroom and outside outlets to have gfci protection. This code was put in place to protect your family from faulty appliances burning down your home but sometimes you do get nuisance tripping. The first thing you need to do is find your gfci and press hard on the reset button. If the button pops again or chatters while trying to reset it take a look around and see what is plugged into that circuit. Most of the time it is the same type of culprit, water features pumps, landscape lighting, extension cords, old freezers and refrigerators. Unplug everything on the dead circuit and try to reset the gfci. Once the gfci resets plug these in one at a time until you find the faulty item. If you have tried this and you still have no luck give us a call and our service technician would be happy to help.
